Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Workplace Therapies has been providing corporate therapeutic chair massage since 2007.
What is your primary product or service?
Workplace Therapies provides therapeutic chair massage. Many techniques are integrated into customized sessions to address the specific needs of each client. The combination of deep tissue work, trigger point therapy, and active isolated stretching provide the most effective relief from chronic muscular pain, and allows employees to focus on their work.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I spent 20 years working at a computer and had developed chronic tension in my neck and upper back. The tight muscles were pinching nerves and causing concerning health problems for me. I had consulted with neurologists, had MRI's, seen physical therapists, and chiropractors. I did not find relief from my symptoms and pain until I tried massage therapy. The results were inspiring. I want to use help others find relief in the same way.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Massage therapists are very different in their skills, experience, and techniques they prefer to use. The goal of all my sessions is to provide my clients with significant relief from their chronic muscular tension and increased range of motion. It is rare that I provide a simple full body swedish massage. Most of my sessions are customized to focus attention on trouble spots and educate my clients on self-care techniques
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I see clients in my Amherst office. I also provide onsite chair massage in the workplace, and would be happy to talk to your HR department about setting up massage services for your company. I will provide in-home services for existing clients at an additional charge of $20/hr.
